10 Steps to an Easier Dissertation or Research Project
Five research skills and five project management skills that will save you time and help you to enjoy your project.
Description
In this course you will learn the importance and value of skills in two distinct areas: research, and project management. Each of the 10 skills is followed up with helpful tips to help you incorporate them into your research process.
Based on my experience of coaching and consulting doctoral students and other early career researchers, I've put together this list of 10 things that will save you a lot of time and frustration throughout your dissertation or research project. These 10 skills are a reflection of: 1) those skills that I believe are among the most important for getting work done as efficiently and accurately as possible, and 2) those skills that I have recognized need improvement from students at the doctoral level.
We have also included quizzes at the end of both sections to help with our learning.
Learning goals upon completing this course include knowing why it is important to establish a solid foundation for your project regarding:
Research Skills
✔ Literature search and review
✔ Producing quality writing
✔ Selecting appropriate measures
✔ Using a reference management program
✔ Selecting appropriate statistical analyses
Project Management Skills
