Hello, I'm RL, and I have many years of experience preparing students for the ABRSM piano practical, piano performance grades, and music theory exam. This set of practice papers are created by me to mimic the format and standard of the Grade 5 Online Music Theory exams. Get the extra practice you'll get nowhere else!
Each practice test is just like the actual exam, there are 75 questions from 7 sections:
- Rhythm (10 questions worth 10 marks)
- Pitch (!0 questions worth 10 marks)
- Intervals (10 questions worth 10 marks)
- Keys and Scales (15 questions worth 15 marks)
- Chords (10 questions worth 10 marks)
- Terms, signs and instruments (10 questions worth 10 marks)
- Music in context (10 questions worth 10 marks)
Each practice paper is timed - you have 2 hours to complete them, just like the actual Grade 5 ABRSM Online Music Theory exam.
To pass, you'll need to get 50 out of 75 marks (or 67%). For a merit, you'll need to score between 60 to 64. To get a distinction, you'll need a score of 65 or more.
The practice papers are automatically marked, so you'll get your score and a full analysis of the questions you have answered correctly and incorrectly once you finish the paper.
