Pandemic, business downturns or restructuring or a personal desire to go back to school, care for family members, or simply look and plan one's career while still working and earning income.  What sacrifices are you willing to make?  What is your adaptability quotient?  How much change can you stand?  And how much can you give up?  Working with someone in a job share situation is challenging.  So many elements are to be considered from the hours to pay and benefits and the mechanics of sharing a job successfully. 

Job Sharing seems exciting and a way to free up hours for personal use while still earning an income.  However, job sharing is not just a matter of sharing hours and tasks - there is much more to be considered.

Are you suited to job sharing?  No one really can answer that question until they have job shared.  However, this course will make you think about many aspects of your work life that you may have never considered before.  By the end, you'll likely have your answer whether you should job share or not.

Working alone in most jobs, job sharing presents new challenges.  Creating systems and procedures which will apply to the job share agreement, can be daunting because so many details have to be attended to.  The process is almost like starting a new mini-company for two. 

Yet the rewards of working out the processes and procedures for a successful working relationship can be many.  For instance, you'll learn to work very closely with people successfully.  You'll understand the anatomy of jobs much better because you'll need to dissect the job in order to split it up and yet keep the flow going.  Communication in job sharing is very different and that took will teach you new ways of communicating.  And personally, you'll grow tremendously.  Not only will you have a chance to achieve your goals, but you'll be able to see the workplace in a much different way.  Soft skills are the most desirable skills in the job market - here you'll hone them in ways you couldn't in any other job.
