Description

Are you an Aeronautical Engineering student, an aircraft Technician, or an aviation enthusiast?

Welcome to this course.

Avionics (a blend of aviation and electronics) are the electronic systems used on aircraft. Avionic systems include communications, navigation, the display and management of multiple systems, and the hundreds of systems that are fitted to aircraft to perform individual functions. Aircraft avionic systems comprise communications, navigation, the display and management of multiple systems, and the hundreds of systems that are fitted to aircraft in order to perform different individual functions. Generally, the Avionic systems of an aircraft are located in the cockpit of the aircraft.

This is a good introduction to mastering aircraft systems and especially avionics systems. This course gives a detailed explanation of the following systems in reference to the Dash 8-100/200/300 aircraft;

  1. Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT)

  2. Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS)

  3. Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS)

  4. Static Discharge system

  5. Pitot Static System

No prior knowledge of the above systems is required.

The De Havilland Canada DHC-8, commonly known as the Dash 8, is a series of turboprop-powered regional airliners, introduced by de Havilland Canada (DHC). It is one of the most efficient aircraft types used by local airliners and midrange travelers.

The reference material used is a Technical Training Manual for the Dash 8 aircraft. This will also assist you to pass your type rating exams on this aircraft. My experience in the aircraft maintenance field has enabled me to know what is required to be known in order to solve any snags that may arise with the systems.

By the end of it, you will have understood these systems in detail. I encourage you to take this course and be a better engineer.

Thank you.
