This self-paced course is designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed decisions when choosing a university specifically for a STEM career. Selecting the right institution for higher education is a pivotal step in shaping one's academic and personal journey. Through a comprehensive exploration of key factors, this course aims to guide students through the complex process of university selection using a specially developed framework of self-reflection and statistical data. Through topics such as geographical location, financial considerations, STEM majors and how to assess a major appropriately (time, quantity, and complexity) and future career prospects tied to your major will the student understand by the end of the course which university aligns with their wants and desires both in the short term and long term.
Throughout the course, students will engage in practical exercises, case studies, and their own uniquely developed workbook to aid them in uncovering what is most notable for them in an undergraduate institution. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to make a well-informed decision about their future academic endeavors.
