Christian Values-Life
The Value of Life and the Rule of Law
Description
The course deals with personal and community values relating to life and the rule of law, and the consequences those values create for the individual and the community. While many today say there is no relationship between the values we hold and how we live our life, those values shape our response to the problems we face as individuals and as a community and may have far-reaching consequences for us and the community around us. The course includes:
(A) "The Origins of the Values of Life and Their Consequences".
(B) "The Abortion Debate and the Role of Values"
(C) "The Origins of the Value of the Rule of Law and the Consequences"
(D) "The Rule of Law and its Role in Reaching Maturity"
(E) "How We Should Relate to Those in Authority"
While many today say they value life and the rule of law, they hold a far different meaning of the value of life and the rule of law than those who hold the traditional meaning, so it is important to understand what they mean when they say they value them. While we feel everyone has value as a child of God, they feel people only have value when they have value to them. While we feel that the law applies equally to everyone, they feel they can apply the law or change it so it benefits them.
