Coping with Tinnitus
Coping strategies to help manage tinnitus
Description
This course provides instruction on four groups of strategies for better coping with tinnitus. One strategy is based on audiological perspectives about how to deal with tinnitus. The other three strategies are the following types of coping strategies: problem-solving coping, stress management coping, and social support coping. Each of these four strategies will be explained in PowerPoint slides in separate sections of this course. Defining stress and understanding how to match the type of stress with the appropriate coping strategy will be taught in this course. Six short videos of people talking about living with tinnitus are also included in this course. The ultimate goals of this course include improving people’s awareness about tinnitus symptoms and increasing their ability to effectively cope with tinnitus.
