Digital Logic Circuits 2023-PART- I
Number systems -Logic gates -Boolean laws and functions-K-Map-Quine McCluskey Method-Boolean Expression Simplification
Description
Students will get an insight into the following concepts after learning Digital Logic Circuits 2023-PART 1.
The students will be introduced to the different number of number systems such as decimal, binary, octal and hexadecimal systems. Initially the nomenclature of different types of number systems will be dealt with and thereafter the students will learn and acquire knowledge about the conversions between different types of number systems.
Students will be able to identify the type of logic gates combination for real time applications by understanding its working and also about the universal gates.
Students will be able to identify the type of Boolean laws applicable for simplifying the Boolean Expression thereby enabling them to solve for any real time applications required in day to day life.
Students will be able to understand the significance of two forms of Boolean functions namely Sum Of Product (SOP) and (Product of Sum) functions. The standard and canonical forms were also explained.
Students will understand the procedure for K-Map and Quine Mc-McCluskey Method for simplification of Boolean expressions.
These above mentioned methods are the ways to represent the deduced reduced logic function which will enable the students to use the deduced logic function in designing a logic circuit for a real time application thereby facilitating saving in economy by reduction in cost while manufacturing the IC chips.
