Description
This course is for those who wants to understand Electric Vehicle/Car conductive charging system and its plugs, socket-outlets, vehicle connectors and vehicle inlets in order to chose the right EV and its charging station;
After this course you will know and understand all connectors and vehicle inlets and its configurations (pin, sleeve etc.).
You will learn about:
A.C. charging. Plugs, socket-outlets, vehicle connectors and vehicle inlets;
D.C. charging. Plugs, socket-outlets, vehicle connectors and vehicle inlets.
You will learn the basic about the main International and European standards and law:
The IEC 61851- Electric vehicle conductive charging system ;
The IEC 62196- Plugs, socket-outlets, vehicle connectors and vehicle inlets — Conductive
charging of electric vehicles ;The European Directive UE/94/2014, Mandate M/468 and its report.
In this course you will learn about:
General system requirement and interface of Electrical Vehicle charging stations;
Types of Electric Vehicle connection using cables and plugs;
Electric Vehicle charging modes and its active power.
You will understand:
Control Pilot Function. PWM modulation;
Typical charging cycle under normal operating conditions;
RCD – residual current device. Fault Protection;
Vehicle to Grid (V2G) defined as (by IEC 15118-1) plug-in electric vehicle interaction with the electric grid, including charging as well as discharging and bidirectional communication interface;
Electric vehicle battery swap system;
Overview of Electromobility Standards.

- Plugs, socket-outlets, vehicle connectors and vehicle inlets- configuration, voltage, current, power, pin, sleeve ;
- Pilot function- PWM modulation.
