Description

Hadith refers to what Muslims believe to be a record of the words, actions, and the implied approval of the Prophet Muhammad. Among Muslim scholars, the term hadith also extends to include the words and practices of his companions and their followers. The hadith record has been transmitted through chains of narrators, which may be authentic or not.

Muslim scholars consider Hadith as one of the primary sources of Islam, as – together with Quran – they formulate the textual foundations for the religion. It is because of this, that Hadith has been given extensive care and attention.

Unlike the Quran, the Hadith preservation has been a great task for the Muslims, especially in the early centuries. Hundreds of scholars have worked tirelessly to sieve out the accepted from the rejected narrations.

The course will enable you to have the basic understandings of the terminology used, and widen your perspectives in this branch of religious education.
