This course is meant for innovators, entrepreneurs and students that want to start their business. It will guide you to general understanding about Intellectual Property when setting up a business. This will help you to navigate this vast area with ease, using simple and non-lawyer words you will understand and relate to. Through the course you will learn how to use new knowledge and apply it in a small but tangible plan for your business.

What is patent, trademark, industrial design, copyright, trade secret, know-how and when are each of them used. How business can build upon their innovativeness through protection of what is your intellectual property, elevating your business game and enabling you to build up your business on strong foundations.

Course will present how to manage your Intellectual property and treat it as a tangible property. For example, you probably take your car to regular services, change oil and filter, you take care of your house, fixing walls, plumbing etc. Same approach for taking care of tangible assets should be taken for taking care of your intellectual assets.

Each section has general overview of the topic, case studies and assignments through which you will integrate this knowledge in your everyday business logic.


About the lecturer:

I have more than 15 years of experience dealing with innovative ideas and supporting them in reaching the market through IP management support, project management and access to finance. Also, I am an expert in Intellectual Property, who loves to translate complex IP topics into simple, easy-to-understand words for everybody to understand.

I have passed passed numerous international and national trainings on Intellectual Property and have served as an Intellectual Property Ambassador for the EU IPR Helpdesk, supporting more than 100 entrepreneurs with their IP business challenges. This experience gave me detailed insight into IP issues that entrepreneurs face on the market, as well as developed my practical and simple approach to IP management and trademark registration.
