Intermediate Level KarateFit Program
Real karate techniques with a fitness focus.
Description
KarateFit is a karate-based fitness program that utilizes real, traditional karate movements that are taught in actual karate dojos and studios. This is a complete fitness program that also teaches people the essence of karate without the partner work. It gives people the same level of total body workout that a karate class would or an MMA/boxing style fitness class would. This is not cardio kick boxing. A karate style ranking system is also utilized to give participants the goal setting aspect of karate. The KarateFit series is great for those who want a great workout, learn some basic karate techniques, but don’t enjoy the partner aspect of training and don’t want to get bogged down with requirements, testing, practicing, and studying.
The intermediate level picks up where the beginner level left off. The intermediate level will review a lot of the beginner level techniques as well as add new, more challenging techniques. The forms (kata) get more challenging as we start to learn the Pyung Ahn/Pinan/Heinan forms from traditional karate. The exercise/conditioning portions of each lesson also gets more intense than the beginner program. It is highly recommended that students fully complete the beginner level program prior to starting this course.
Sparring footwork drills and skills.
Strength, endurance, and flexibility training.
No experience necessary although taking Strength, Endurance, and Flexibility for Martial Arts course (free by the way) is highly recommended. Course is taught by Master Steven Elmore, 5th Dan in Tang Soo Do and NASM Certified Personal Trainer who has taught several Regional and World Champion Tang Soo Do fighters. Master Elmore is not the most gifted athlete but has had success in sparring competition both as a competitor and a coach using the methods outlined in this course.
