This is the first part of a two-part course that goes under the heading 'Advance Jazz Piano' and it is designed to give pianist who want to broaden their knowledge and take their piano skills to the next level, both in the area of jazz and the area of gospel piano, the tools needed to do so and an understanding of various concepts and principles to achieving this goal. Though this course goes under the heading 'Jazz Piano', the knowledge and principles here can be applied to any genre of music. In Music, creativity is the driving force.

This course is specifically designed for students that possesses a basic knowledge of piano chords, scale harmony and chord progressions, and can play basic piano accompaniment. A knowledge of music theory will also be of great benefit to learners.


The course contains 5 Hours 44 Minutes of video content arranged into four sections and an extra 24 minutes bonus section.


Section: Introduction, covers;

  Intervals

  Major Scales

  Minor Scales (Natural, Harmonic and Melodic)

  7th Chord sand Circle of 4th and 5th.


Section 2: The Major Modes and ii-V-I Progression, covers;

  The Ionian Mode and The Major 7th Chord

  The Dorian Mode and The Minor 7th Chord

  The Phrygian Made and The Minor 7th Chord

  The Lydian Mode and The Major 7th Chord

  The Mixolydian Mode and The Dominant 7th Chord

  The Aeolian Mode and The Minor 7th Chord

  The Locrian Mode and The Minor 7th flat 5 Chord

  Voice Leading

  The Cycle of 5th and 4th

  Other Chord Progressions, such as;

     V-V

     i-Vi-ii-V

     iii-Vi-ii-V

Section 3: Chord and Scale Theory, covers;

  Their Applications

  Left Hand Voicings
