Keep Networking Simple!

Network Fundamentals from a Cybersecurity Perspective

Ratings: 4.35 / 5.00

Description

My goal in developing this course is to use common analogies to explain more complex skills. Hence, the slogan you will see in these lessons "There is nothing New under the Sun"

These lessons are designed for individuals with little to no experience in Technology or Cybersecurity. I meet so many intelligent individuals every day who would do great in Information Technology or Cybersecurity career fields. However, they are shell-shocked by all the geeky terminology and jargon we use.

I employ several  analogies and vignettes such as "Aida's Kitchen, LLC" to describe how to develop, mature and secure a network to support a growing business.   We start with a small home/office network and grow to a network that span across multiple building and floors.

There are over 12 Cisco Packet Tracer video tutorials include to provide hands-on instructions on how to configure network switches, routers and firewalls.

Developing a fundamental understanding of basic Networking concepts is critical for Cybersecurity Professionals. We are seeing a steady decrease in the overall technical competency of our Cybersecurity workforce. This course approach IT/Networking from a Cybersecurity perspective. We are not just security the network or network devices, but using technology to manage access to critical data and business information.

If you are looking for a course to help you understand the core tenets of Networking and Cybersecurity, then I think you will enjoy Keep Networking Simple!
