Volunteer opportunities abound. Find out what to get involved in retirement based off your time commitment, financial status, etc.. Learn about the latest tech resources to improve your skills, stay sharp resources like Lumosity, Elevate and Mensa Brain training. Create a “Moai”, a small group of people serving as lifelong support for one another. Staying social can boost one’s immune system, reduce physical pain, and lower blood pressure. Staying active and stimulating the brain, along with personal interaction, help to improve one’s state of mind significantly. Friends help us cope with stress. In one study at the University of Virginia, many people were intimidated at the prospect of climbing a steep hill. But researchers found that when people were standing next to a friend, they rated the hill less challenging than those who were alone. Get engaged, get involved! You are only on this planet for so long
