Have you ever wondered how comic books are being made?

What goes into making a comic book? What is a script? What is a line art? How is comic book colored? Or how it is lettered? And what do with it after you finish it?


ABOUT THE COURSE

The goal of the four-part mini-series course is to explain what comic books are and how to make them from start to finish.

Each lecture will explain a specific element of comic book in more detail. Part one is about the script, part two is about the line art, part three is about coloring, and part four is about lettering and publishing.

LEARN COMIC BOOK SCRIPT BASICS!  is first part of this course. In case you haven't checked it I suggest that you do before watching this, but it is not mandatory.

In PART 2 PANEL DIRECTING course you will learn:

  • relationship of images and text in comic books,

  • timing in comic books,

  • most used panel directing templates,

  • most common comic book page layouts.

You will get to direct your own comic book short story using the teachings and tools from this class.


Homework:

  • Draw one story that is between 1 and 4 pages long using panel examples and page layouts from the course.

  • No more than 25 panels total.

  • That means you have between 5-7 panels per page to tell the story.

HOMEWORK Reader has assignment details, script template, and layout examples for you to use.
