LGBTQ Friendly Classroom
How to Make Your School or Classroom LGBTQ Friendly for Students
Description
Structured under the Danielson Framework, our LGBTQ Friendly Classroom course is perfect to help you create an LGBTQ Safe Space in your school. In the full course, we include over 61 chapters of information, over six hours of education material, and tons of downloadable resources for your classroom.
We'll cover everything from the science and spectrums of sexual orientation and gender identity to helping you understand the legal rights of every student. Next, we'll show you exactly how to implement LGBTQ lessons into every subject from Art, Geography, Health, History, Literature, Math, Music, and Science. We'll show you how to overcome common myths and how to be a better Ally to the LGBTQ community. We then cover how to help your students come out of the closet and prepare you for what comes after they come out as LGBTQ. Next, we explain over a dozen situations that may happen in your school. We cover each of these common situations in detail and show you exactly how you should handle that situation to keep your students safe. Finally, we'll explain how exactly to start a GSA club, how to host a Pride day in your school, and much more.
At the end of the course, you can even be certified as an official Powered By Rainbows LGBTQ-Friendly Teacher*. You will be able to download this certification and use it on any future resume or similar document. We even structured this course so your school or state can give you credit for your continuing education for taking the course.
* Certification is only valid for one teacher, administrator, or person per enrollment. If your school has multiple staff members wanting to take the course or if your school would like all staff members certified, each person will need to enroll separately. Thank you for your understanding.
