Ratings: 0.00 / 5.00

Description

Do you want to learn about how wind and pressure impact your daily life in real time? This course is designed to answer your initial questions about weather and the prevailing winds associated with various systems in our atmosphere.

This course is designed to provide you with a solid foundation for understanding global wind patterns and the atmospheric conditions that help to steer weather systems around the world. This is an introductory module that will cover the various prevailing wind patterns found mostly in the United States and some other parts of the world too.

The second part of this course will examine the tools that weather students use to measure wind and pressure in the atmosphere. We will look at the origins of the barometer and how it is vital for understanding whether stormy or fair weather is coming your way. This weather course is designed to help you be on your way to compiling a forecast that looks at the steering currents of a system from a macro perspective and also be able to analyze the synoptic patterns found on a contour weather map.

Finally, we will look at the changes in using wind energy via windmills in the ocean and land to help ease the energy and emissions burden as climate change continues to threaten our world.
