Description
This course is designed to give you a basic understanding of the RADARSCOPE app and its capabilities for providing you with the best forecast tools for your home use. This course will cover how to download and install the application on multiple devices like laptops, phones, and tablets. We will mainly focus on using the product for analyzing severe weather scenarios as well as interpreting weather watches and warnings in the program. We will also be orienting you to tips and shortcuts used when viewing a radar site versus seeing the macro big picture view of the prevailing overall weather pattern for the day or week.
We will cover the basics of navigation using the main display panels and also the various settings layers that you will need to configure for the radar for the best results. We will show live cities from the radar and show you how to use the over 200 radars available in the program.
We will also discuss the other weather data tools that you need to use in conjunction with this weather radar like the NOAA weather storm prediction center’s outlook and the daily meso scale discussions that take place too. This course will survey the live severe weather going on the in the lower 48 states and so you how to communicate that information to the public and to your fellow storm spotters who may be on the ground live during a severe weather event. Finally ,we will conclude with an overview of system features and important updates that you should be aware of as you progress through the usage of RADARSCOPE.
