Mindful Resilience in the Modern Workplace
This course will give you tools and techniques to navigate work challenges with mindful resilience.
Description
The Mindful Resilience in the Modern Workplace course is designed for busy professionals who want to be more resilient and mindful in the face of the challenges of working life. It’s suitable for people a range of different roles, mindfulness has been shown to benefit knowledge workers, teachers, firefighters, health workers, entrepreneurs, call centre workers - and many more! It’s also suitable for people in different work contexts whether you’re on the frontline, in the office, on the move, or working from home.
Our twenty-first century workplaces are often high pressure, fast-paced environments in which stress, exhaustion and burnout are all too common. Being resilient is key not only to survival but also to experiencing greater happiness, creativity and productivity at work. Resilience is all about being able to adapt to difficult experiences and bounce back from them.
Even if we don’t feel all that resilient, the good news is that resilience is a skill we can develop rather than an inherent personality trait. The amount of resilience we start out with in life may vary, but we all have the possibility to increase it.
Mindfulness can help to boost up your resilience levels. Mindfulness practices help cultivate greater self-awareness, cognitive flexibility, self-compassion, positive relationships, and acceptance – qualities that have all been found to contribute to greater resilience to stress in the workplace.
There are lots of mindfulness courses on Udemy, what’s different about this one?
There are two reasons this course is different:
It provides techniques to set up and embed mindfulness practice, helping you form new habits.
All of the practices and approaches are rooted in the science of mindfulness, giving you confidence that they are effective.
Firstly, getting the benefits of mindfulness means putting it into practice in your daily life. This course goes beyond just giving you a set of meditations to really helping you create a new mindfulness habit and smoothing the path towards your goal of mindful resilience. I provide proven techniques to help you set clear practice goals, plan how you will implement them, and (at the end of the course) build a mindful resilience plan. I also give clear guidance on how to embed mindfulness into your work day.
Secondly, I won’t blind you with science but I DO share highlights and useful facts from the latest research on mindfulness and resilience so that you know how and why the practices work. Understanding how our minds work is invaluable in overcoming in-built negative biases and maximising attention and positivity.
What you’ll get
36 lectures that deliver the ideas and practices in a professional yet friendly manner.
19 original MP3 recordings of meditations to download and use on your devices.
50+ page workbook including daily meditation log, reflective exercises and setting practice goals.*
*The workbook is supplied as a PDF but is also available on request in RTF and DOC formats (e.g. for use with dictation software or for printing).
