Description

After Completing This Course You Will Be Able To

  • Understand the biology of cancer

  • Understand drugs that target specific signaling pathways in cancer

About This Course

Cancer is a disease in which some of the body's cells grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. Cancer develops when something goes wrong in this process and your cells continue to produce new cells while the old or abnormal ones do not die as they should. Cancer can be successfully treated in many cases. In fact, more people than ever before are living full lives following cancer treatment. Many treatments have developed and some show promising outcomes. Monoclonal antibodies and small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors have been developed, therefore the students need to know about this progress.

After completing this course, you will be able to understand the basic science of cancer biology and therapy, especially targeted therapy.

What You Will Learn

In this course, you will study about:

  • What is cancer?

  • Cause of cancer

  • Type of cancer

  • Genetic of cancer: oncogene and tumor suppressor gene

  • Hallmark of cancer

  • Proliferation and metastasis

  • Targeted therapy concept
