People who take this course will understand why stroke matters and will learn how to prevent a stroke for themselves or someone they know. It will also create a working knowledge of stroke types, diagnosis, mimics, prevention, and treatment which can be used for both the private individual and medical physician.

Stroke is the #1 disabler and #5 cause of death in the United States. As a practicing board certified neurologist, I am the stroke director of 2 nationally certified and ranked stroke programs. I have successfully taught stroke neurology to school-grade students, the general public, medical students, nurses, EMS, residents, and physicians.

All are welcome to take this course. The knowledge gained from this course is useful to both the general public in order for them to help prevent and recognize a stroke and to those in the medical field in order to improve their clinical skills or help study for an exam.
