Description

This short course on Numbering systems covering in particular the Denary, Binary and Hexadecimal systems, will enable you to understand  how number systems work and how to convert numbers from one system to the other.  It assumes no prior knowledge and proceeds with small, well explained steps that will build your knowledge and confidence as you progress.  Each stage is clearly labelled so you can come back and use it for reference as required.

The course is for you, if it is of interest to you. It may be that you want to be able to handle Binary and Hexadecimal simply because you are interested in it. Alternatively there are many occupations in which a knowledge of Binary and Hexadecimal is an advantage or indeed essential. For instance you may need this knowledge because you are pursuing a career in Information Technology, Computer Control or Robotics. You may work in digital communications or you might want to supplement what you are learning in school or college.

This list is not exhaustive and you have a different reason for studying this topic, please get in touch and let me know. I am always interested to learn why people study my courses.

Whatever your reasons for being here, welcome to this course and I hope that you enjoy going through it. If you have any difficulty please reach out to your fellow students or to myself and ask for help. We live in a large world and nobody needs to be alone!
