O Level Chemistry - write formulae, covalent and ionic
Foundation Topics: kinetic particle theory, writing chemical formulae, equations , atomic structure, chemical bonding
Description
This course is a must-have if you want to build the foundations for O Level Chemistry. In this course, we will cover the topics that you need to know to proceed with other chapters. These are also the first few topics that your school will cover.
In this course, we will cover the following topics:
Learning to read the periodic table and extracting essential information
Kinetic particle theory (solids, liquids, and gases) and diffusion
Writing the chemical formulae of atoms, molecules, and ionic compounds
Writing chemical equation (including state symbols)
Writing ionic equations
Elements, Compounds, and mixtures
Atomic structure
Writing electronic configuration and drawing electronic structure (or dot- and- cross diagram) for atoms
Ionic bonding - when are ionic bonds formed, and properties of ionic compounds
Writing electronic configuration of ions and drawing electronic structure (or dot- and- cross diagram) for ionic compounds
Simple molecules - about them and their properties
Drawing electronic structure (or dot- and- cross diagram) of simple molecules
Macromolecules
Diamond and Graphite
Metallic bonds - about them and their properties.
Pure metals vs alloys
In this course, we dive deep into the concepts tested in the O Level Chemistry. We also go through in detail how to do questions so that at the end of the course, you can dive right into your past prelim questions and O Level past year papers and do them.
This is the complete course that I conduct in my face-to-face tuition lessons. The complete course usually takes multiple 2- hour lessons. But now, you can build up your Chemistry foundation anytime, anywhere, at your own pace, and watch it any number of times you like.
