Description
NEW BONUS LECTURE - added August 2023
Improve your painting confidence by painting these poppies and learn how:
to use more water and let the paints flow.
use stronger colours and more pigment.
make meaningful marks with your brushes.
create specific shapes from the accidental marks that occur.
There is so much fun to have painting these pictures. Your painting confidence with really soar when you grasp the basics of NOT colouring between the lines. There is no need to use a pencil first. Let the paint and the water make the marks for you. Use your imagination and let the images create themselves.
I have used a mixture of colours. Scarlet lake, Alizarin and vermillion for the main reds. But use what reds and oranges you have. Maybe you have poppies growing near you which have more orange and yellow in them, so I will leave it up to you.
Most of all discover the magic of watercolours when the are used in this really fluid way.
Follow me as I demonstrate how to work in stages and also how to correct mistakes. It happens to the best of us !
