Power plant economics course is designed for students in India and elsewhere to help them appreciate the concepts used in economic analysis of power plants. The course is an introductory course designed for the students, field engineers and anybody interested in power plants or economics. After completing this course ,students would be able to do back of the envelope calculations of the economic viability of power plants if the data in the form of capital cost, fuel costs and interest rates  is provided to them. An introduction to other related terms like capacity factor and diversity factor are also covered in this course. The course ends with an elementary treatment of a fascinating concept namely economic scheduling of power plants.Concept quizes at the end of every lecture would strengthen understanding of the corec concepts discussed in this course.
