Pure Vowels - the grail of beautiful singing
Learn the magic of what vowels can do for your singing!
Description
There are lots of incredible vocal coaches out there but, after decades of study and professional performance, it blows my mind how few really understand the profound impact that vowels can have on your singing. Get some insight on the core principle of the ancient, Italian school of singing - Bel Canto. Pavarotti and Maria Callas showcase these skills with unbelievable mastery, but you'll even start to recognise these principles in some of your favourite modern singers. Become aware of the core vowels, where you might be overcomplicating them and missing out on the best of them, and start using them to greater effect with your own voice.
We'll begin with a bit of background, some tips on the best approach for learning these new skills, and a bit about which parts of your 'instrument' you'll be using before diving into the vowels themselves.
We'll look at each vowel individually using different angles and approaches to maximise your ability to grasp each one. Then we'll complete by stringing them together, giving us a different perspective on how the 'vowel journey', overall, can be used to remedy some common vocal tone issues.
There will be a quiz after each video to help you consolidate your learning and, hopefully, have some fun along the way! I recommend having a mirror (or a smartphone camera) handy to look at yourself. If you have means of recording yourself, that's also a great idea. These two tools can help you discern your own progress so you can become your own teacher.
Practicing these skills along the way is the only way to see any real change in your singing. If you choose just to learn the information here, though, you should find it useful.
