Special Relativity: The Wacky World of Modern Physics
Uncover the mysteries of the universe by diving deep down the rabbit hole of modern physics and its many applications
Description
What if everything you THINK you know about the universe is nothing more than a limited snapshot of a bigger picture?.....
.......that the lessons you absorbed have blinded you - preventing you from seeing the real truth?
Would you choose to finally unlock the mysteries of this universe - to uncover the truth and see how deep the rabbit hole goes?
What I'm going to show you is that classical physics - along with your current conception of reality - is essentially an unfinished story. It proposes rules for the universe, but, in special situations, some end up being bent, even completely broken. As we guide you deeper down the rabbit hole, you'll gradually peer into the inner-workings of Einstein's mind and the revolutionary ideas it inspired. You'll discover that, even though the world's population constitutes an infinite set of varied perceptions, it's possible to reconcile these differences and establish an absolute, universal conception.
Upon accepting this new reality, you'll uncover a cascading, ripple effect on the body of physics - creating the most remarkable phenomena you could ever imagine. Time will suddenly dilate; length will miraculously contract; your perception of mass and energy will never be the same again. These revolutionary physics ideas also form the basis of our most valued technologies in many STEM industries, including Aerospace. So, naturally, you'll also be trained to take these ideas and use them practically. The main application we'll focus on in this course is designing your own radar algorithms - such as those used for traffic control, missile defense systems, or weather Doppler. However, we'll also cover an assortment of other cool technologies, including the GPS in your smart phones and even the nuclear energy powering our homes.
The answers are out there....
....and they'll find you - if you want them to.
It's all waiting for you in the story of....Special Relativity: The Wacky World of Modern Physics. I hope you're ready to free your mind in a world where anything is possible.

COURSE CONTENT AND OVERVIEW
Through 51 lectures and 14 hours worth of HD-quality content, you're going to unlock the mysteries of the universe, as you dive deeper down the rabbit hole of Modern Physics. By the end of this journey, you'll be able to confidently apply modern physics concepts to analyze ANY system or phenomenon throughout the universe - regardless of perspective. Each step of this immersive journey also concludes with a comprehensive quiz; so, you'll have a chance to practice these new physics concepts first-hand, receive immediate feedback, and quickly become a master of the universe! Here's a brief overview of each component you'll explore as you journey through the course:
Component I - Foundational Relativity Concepts: In the first section, we'll begin your journey by questioning the universality of perceptions and establishing foundational relativity concepts. We'll explore Classical Physics ideas such as the Galilean Transformation and Galilean invariance, while building problem solving skills before your intuition is thrown out the window later. At the end of this section, you'll have a better understanding of the dilemmas faced by all physicists and what they were trying to solve back when Einstein made his breakthrough discoveries.
Component II - Redefining Your Conception of Space-Time: In the next section, we'll finally begin diving down the rabbit hole of Modern Physics, as you completely redefine your conception of space-time and physics. We'll learn that time and space are relative, not absolute - which gives rise to weird physics effects known as time dilation and length contraction. Then, we'll run through several classic physics thought experiments - such as Einstein's Twin and Train Paradoxes - to build intuition with these foreign ideas.
Component III - Developing Translational Tools: Once you understand the true nature of space-time, you'll have the fundamental ideas for bridging the gap between an infinite set of perceptions. So, in Component III, we'll finally develop a map for effortlessly translating experiences between different perspectives of the universe. This map will eventually provide an assortment of useful analytical physics tools such as the Lorentz Transformation and relativistic velocity addition.
Component IV - Unleashing the Power of Special Relativity: Now that you're well-immersed in the wacky world of modern physics, it's finally time to put the puzzle pieces together and see the full picture. In Component IV, we'll unleash the power of Special Relativity / Modern Physics and dive deep into its many applications. First, we'll learn about the relativistic Doppler Shift - or how relative motion between objects influences the properties of electromagnetic waves. Then, we'll use your newfound physics knowledge to understand and design simple radar systems - similar to those found in police radar guns and missile defense systems. We'll also explore red shifts and physics applications in cosmology - which helped us develop the Big Bang Theory and the notion of an expanding universe.
Component V - Relativistic Mechanics: Much like throwing a rock into a lake, we'll find that introducing these ideas into the body of physics will have a ripple effect with significant theoretical implications. So, in the course's final component, we'll take a closer look at these cascading, ripple effects - as we assess their impact on classical physics ideas, such as momentum and energy. We'll discover the revolutionary idea at the core of nuclear power and fusion: that mass is nothing more than a manifestation of energy. Then, we'll personally witness the birth of Quantum Mechanics, as we study the wave-particle duality of light and its special massless properties.
As you dive deeper down the rabbit hole of Modern Physics, you'll eventually bridge the gap between an infinite set of perspectives, forge an absolute conception of the universe, and finally complete the unfinished story of Classical Physics. Not only will such a journey through the wacky world of modern physics liberate your mind, but the many applications we'll explore will mold you into a master of the universe capable of utilizing this fascinating information; that alone will make you shine in the STEM industry or effortlessly excel in-class.

Here's what some of our customers and fans had to say about our previous courses & content:
"I had rated this as a 5-star course before. I did it before having finished it (actually, I haven't yet...). My only complaint was that I wished it included dynamics of rigid bodies. Guess what, it does, as Mr. Reilly was kind enough to point out... So if I could, now, I would rate this physics course even higher. It covers the backbone of lagrangian, hamiltonian mechanics. It's one of the best online physics courses out there and, as far as I know, the only one that covers these physics topics adequately. The instructor always answers questions with utmost carefulness and attention. Really, really great course. Congrats and cheers!"
-Wallace da Silva Carvalho, ★★★★★
"The enthusiasm the instructor brings with himself is simply fascinating. Unlike the traditional Physics profs who'll bore you to death, you actually start getting excited about the subject! I actually hope that more such physics courses will be on the way in the near future :)"
-Syed Nouman Hasany, ★★★★★
"This physics course is gold, I recommend it to everyone who wants improvement in their lives. It's helping me spiritually and also in the fulfillment of my objectives. Thanks a lot, Ed! I'm a big fan of The Kaizen Effect videos and also the Classical Physics course. I'm also an engineer, so this is all perfect and truly applicable to my life. Keep up the great work for the good of the world."
-Leonam Akira Ferreira da Costa, ★★★★★
"Simply amazing. I was quite confused reading through John Taylor's Classical Mechanics at first (and my Dynamics Professor sucks), but you truly conveyed the beauty in all of this physics, and I've gotta say I'm mad shook lmaoo the way we're able to break down a complex problem into the real core of it like that – simply blew my mind. YouTube >> University. Thank you so much for uploading, because it really helps for people like me that are visual / audio learners who understand more when they have access to such material to supplement the physics textbook. Cheers!"
-Aditya Abhyankar, ★★★★★
"Seriously, thank you sooooo much. I made a massive leap from engineering to physics and you take the time to carefully explain so many little details that many professors overlook. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. I wish you the best on all your future endeavors."
-Leah Stokes, ★★★★★
"This is what I need - A HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS LECTURER who claps his hands to get my attention! :-) Too many old men droning on in the rest of YouTube lectures. Something like this is engaging and keeps you awake :-)!"
-Hugh Jones, ★★★★★
"Classical Physics is a top-shelf course. Mr. Reilly is an evangelist for the material, and his approach will make you want to learn mechanics. He takes pains to make clear the derivations and meanings of the differential equations of physics, and provides plenty of examples to illustrate them in action. The first section alone has taught me much, and was enough to rekindle my interest in applied math and physics (which is sorely lacking). I can definitely do things now that I couldn't do before enrolling, and I can't wait to get to the later chapters. Classical Physics is like a book you won't want to put down, and will make an awesome addition to any student's digital library."
-William Kern, ★★★★★
"What I liked best about the physics video is that you first spent time explaining the intuition behind converting the problem (from, say, cartesian space) to a more abstract space and finding the solution there. Explaining such philosophy greatly helps put things in context as it answers what question really we are trying to answer. Following the content becomes much easier then. If you are not doing that in other videos, please do so :)!
TBH I was a bit skeptical about following through the whole physics video because I'd like to think I understand problems best when there is a geometrical intuition behind it, and have run away from any kind of analytical math all my life (even though I understood geometrical intuition behind complex calculus operations I'd still fail terribly in exams because I have a problem stating the questions analytically). This video helped me change my perspective. I wish I had physics teachers like you in college!
Thank you for the wonderful lecture, man!"
