We start by covering what index and index funds are. We will then go through different types of index funds and compare the advantages and disadvantages to help you decide which one might be a better choice for you. We will then do a walkthrough of some example index funds and I will show you how to research the funds you are interested and which platforms to use to get the necessary information and product factsheet.
Next, we will cover portfolio design based on your level of risk and tolerance. The course will cover model portfolios that you can use to help you get started. Then we will talk about managing risk in your portfolio using fixed income assets such as bonds. After creating a model portfolio, we will cover contribution and distribution of money across the portfolio. We then follow by shoeing you how to rebalance your portfolio. Lastly, we cover what dividends are and how you can use them to your advantage to help your portfolio grow faster.
This course is all about passive and index investing and learning to design your own portfolio to reach your goals.
