Teaching Profession
Teaching - Elementary, Secondary, University
Description
My name is Larry Gilbert. My educational training includes: a Bachelor degree in elementary education, a Master's degree in school administration, and a Doctor' degree in the philosophy of education and teacher training. My experience includes teaching at the elementary level, secondary level, and university level, and as a principle at the junior high and elementary level.
In this course which consists of 3 major videos my goal was to provide specific discussion on the interactions between students and teachers at various levels. Being aware of some nuances at each level of education should equip the teacher with a teaching format and a better understanding of the role of the teacher at each level.
The first video concentrates on the nuances and interactions between students and teacher at the elementary level.
The second video discusses the role of the teacher and the characteristics of students at the secondary (high school) level.
The third video offers a perspective on university students from the professors viewpoint and suggestions on the characteristics of these students. It also discusses the role of the professor.
As I proceeded through each level of teaching, I became aware of the role and attitude change required by the teacher. Being aware of the nuances at each level of education should equip the teacher with a teaching format and better understanding of the role, attitude, and appreciation of the mind sets of students at different ages.
