Use of English practice test on Parallelism, Discourse reference, Concord, Stylistic variation, Mechanics.
Description
Questions in this test, are selected from a range of past administered Use of English test to the prospective candidates of the post graduate program of the University of Ibadan.
This test contains about One-hundred and fifty questions and five different sections.
Each section contains 30 questions and instructions on how to answer the questions under them, are provided below as well as in the test.
CONCORD;
Here you'll be asked to fill in the blank space in each sentences by choosing the most suitable word from the provided options.
PARALLELISM;
You'll be choosing from the given options, the expression that best represents the most acceptable structure.
DISCOURSE REFERENCE;
You'll be identifying the words or expression that the capitalised word(s) in the sentence connect with.
STYLISTIC VARIATION;
From options a-d, people who enrol in the test, will be asked to choose the most appropriate sentence that they could use in a letter to their father while on a visit to his cocoa farm.
MECHANICS.
This is divided into two sections. In the first part, you'll choosing the most appropriate form of words in terms of spelling and in the second part, the most appropriate capitalization.
Answers to each questions have been provided by different experts in linguistic field of study.
