The Church in the 21st Century
Adapting the Church
Description
The church in America was once widely respected, but today it is struggling to survive and is under attack by the society around it. It must seriously evaluate how it goes about its work and seek ways to improve its ability to win souls and make disciples. This course reviews the functions of the pastor as teacher and shepherd and discusses problems and possible solutions to enable it to be more effective in its ministry.
The course also discusses how society has changed and how it has affected the church. It will also discuss the factors that hinder the church’s ministry and possible solutions, including how the church has changed the increasing isolation within the church. Member’s need to feel safe but changes have hindered that. It also deals with how the church can help members feel safer.
It also discusses problems in the church that create isolation and ways to overcome it and make the church more effective in making disciples.
