The Improv Method for Therapists
Therapeutic Tools for Mental Health Clinicians
Description
As we continue to ebb and flow, changing the way we work, and accommodate our clients I am excited to announce a new CAMFT approved 14-hour CEU opportunity for LMFTs, LCSWs, LEPs, and LPCCs, that has the potential to create more flexibility, fluidity, and resilience in both you and your clients.
Introducing The Improv Method, learn therapeutic methods through the use of improv comedy. Led by Social and Emotional Learning Specialist and author of The Brain’s Playground, Maja Watkins, Dr. Ali Arena Ed.D, CCC-SLP, BCBA, and trauma specialist, Nicole Moore, M.A., LMFT. This course provides an overview of therapeutic interventions through the use of improv comedy games used for a variety of clinical settings such as family therapy, individual therapy, group, and classroom intervention.
This interactive workshop will provide you with the opportunity to diversify your therapeutic toolbox and experience how improv facilitates vulnerability and community when working with individuals on the autism spectrum, neurodiverse brains, and when treating anxiety and trauma.
You’ll be thinking on your feet, develop an improviser’s mindset, and learn actual improv games while laughing and having fun!
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
