Every person in business and every business faces an exposure to suits seeking damages claiming that the conduct of the business, its employees, or officers caused damage to their person or property due to negligence or some intentional tort. In order to protect the business and avoid or limit damages claimed in lawsuits due to wrongful conduct by the business or its officers or directors, the person taking this course will learn everything needed to understand the torts of negligence, strict liability in tort, and damages as a result of ultra-hazardous activities. The course also covers the intentional torts of assault, battery, defamation, trespass, and malicious prosecution. The course concludes with the defenses available to people charged with a tort.
