The video course “Watercolor trip to Italy” is a step-by-step tutorial made by Ukrainian watercolorists: Andrej Gerasimyuk (ranked in TOP20 world’s watercolorists)  and Vitalii Dets (finalist TOYP 2014). The tutorial shows how just in 3 steps, you can learn to paint Italian landscapes with watercolor. The authors share their expertise and secrets of watercolor techniques in the form of 3 step-by-step interactive lessons. Video-course includes different techniques: wet-in-wet, dry, masking etc. Those are 3 of 16 lessons extracted from the book "Watercolor trip to Italy". So if you have the book, you can paint directly in it.

Shortly about the process:

  1. Make a draft drawing on watercolor paper using the attached sketch.

  2. Prepare the necessary materials: 12 paints, brushes, etc.

  3. Follow the step-by-step video instructions with highlighted green outlines and accompanying instructional pictures.

  4. Finish all details and check for any mistakes in the pictures.


Short history.

Prior to the creation of the book and video course, our artists embarked on multiple journeys to capture the essence of Italy. They carefully curated the most picturesque locations, resulting in over 50 stunning watercolor paintings. From this selection, they handpicked the most suitable artworks and meticulously crafted step-by-step instructions, which are now included in the final version of the book.


About authors:

Andrej Gerasimyuk, born in 1970, is a renowned Ukrainian watercolor painter who holds an esteemed position among the world's top 20 artists according to the Kuzema ranking. His exceptional talent has been recognized through numerous accolades, including being a multiple-time finalist in the Artist's Magazine competition and the prestigious XXI Century Watercolor Open Competition organized by the Royal Watercolor Society, where he ranked in the top 100 out of 16,000 participants. Additionally, he has been honored as Artist of the Month in the USA.


Vitali Dets, born in 1981, is an innovative Ukrainian artist who developed a unique method for learning painting in just one day, making him the pioneer of this approach in Ukraine. Since 2005, over 10,000 amateur artists have successfully created their own paintings within a single day under his guidance in his studio. Vitalii has incorporated his effective learning method into the book "Watercolor trip to Italy," offering a simplified and accessible way to master watercolor painting.
